RULES & FAQ

The SHIMANOliga is a non-profit race series driven by volunteer mountain bike passionates. The race series has UCI points for the elite classes (Men, Women, U19), general classes without UCI points, (B, C, H40, H50, U17, U15, U13, U11 and U9) as you know them from the traditional DCU races, and it’s for motion/beginners as well! You can just sign up for the MOTION Men or the MOTION Women class where you won’t need a license.

In general the rules for DCU / UCI apply for the races. We’ve attached just a few of the rules here. The 2010 edition of the DCU rules can be found here

If you’re still in doubt, please feel free to contact us.

FAQ

We’ve gathered a few of the typical questions you have for us here in the FAQ section. If you can’t find the answer for your question, please contact us on mail@mtbliga.dk

Q: Do I need to participate in all the races in order to join the fight for the overall league?
A: No you don’t. You can ride as many or as few as you like. You just don’t collect any points for the ones you don’t participate in.

Q: Will there be overall standing in the ‘motion’ class?
A: No, there won’t. There’ll be an overall standing in all DCU and UCI classes (A+B is combined), except for the C class, which is the entry class for seniors.

Q: Can you buy a one-day licens for the race?
A: The motion class doesn’t need a one-day license, but for the remaining DCU classes you can (U11, U13, U15, U17, H40, C). However, you can only buy a one-day license twice in a year.

Q: Can you enrol on the day of the race?
A: Yes, for all non-UCI classes you can enroll up to half an hour before your starting time. For the UCI classes (Mens elite A+B, Women elite, and U19) you can enroll up to two hours before the start. This is the same timeframe given to sign in and collect your numberplate for your bike. And remember, if you forget your license, you will not be permitted to start!

Q: Will start 1 and 2 race on the same course?
A: It’s depending on the individual organizers of the races. For the majority of them, the first start is a slightly reduced circuit of the complete one used for the second start.

Q: For how long do you race in the ‘motion’ class?
A: The riding time is just a little over one hour, depending on the fastest rider and the conditions of the track.

Q: I haven’t bought a chip what do I do?
A: You have to buy a chip on-site at the race day. The price is 100DKK! We do not provide rental chips anylonger du to administration issues.

Q: I’ve forgotten to bring my own chip, can you help me?
A: You have to buy a chip on-site at the race day. The price is 100DKK! We do not provide rental chips anylonger du to administration issues.

Q: I plan on racing both in the Ride4Fun Dust-Cup and the SHIMANO liga, do I use the same chip for both series?
A: Yes, it’s the same chip for both series, as well as for the remaining DCU MTB races. Furthermore, your chip can be used for the Ghost-Cup race series in Jylland. So you’ll be using it for many years to come!
